Finally! After three long years!
|
Last week I sneaked out for a few hours to do some fishing. Those who know me very well know that from three years ago when I started fishing again, not once did I ever catch a papio. I caught everything else except for this one near shore prized fish. Then October 17, 2006, it would be the day that I land three of them. Not one, but three within 3 hours! I've never seen my pole bend so much. I got at a total of 7 major strikes, but only managed to pull 3 out of the water. They're not the biggest of fish I caught, but good enough to fill up the frying pan and my hungry tummy. These were caught on the South Shore of Oahu. Good times.

Risa & Reid
|
On September 16, 2006 there were three main events happening that day. A visit from the Philippine President (closed the Freeway), UH Hawaii Warriors Football Game (jam pack congestion in central Oahu) and Risa & Reid's wedding at Lanikuhonua. One word, TRAFFIC! Thankfully, Kim and I didn't get caught in it. This was another amazing wedding that my wife and I photographed. This would be the first time I would experience rain (at Lanikuhonua), but that didn't stop this beautiful couple. The wedding continued as planned. Coordination and event design was put together by Shari Dang Weddings. With Shari's eye and sense of style, this became a wedding photographer's heaven. A lot of thought and effort was put in to make Risa's dream wedding a reality. There were just so many details one after another. One detail I enjoyed photographing the most was Risa's dress. My wife and I agreed that this was the most beautiful wedding dress we have ever witnessed. AMAZING! And what makes this dress even cooler is that Risa designed it herself!
After the ceremony, the weather cooperated exposing the sun making Lanikuhonua what it is known for; the amazing sunset. And with that, we were able to create some beautiful images of the newly wed couple.
Thanks to Risa and Reid for letting Kim and I be part of your special day. You both make an amazing couple! Best wishes and we both wish you, "love & laughter, happily ever after".

Self Promotion
|
This is my little shameless self promotion. I had some time off and instead of driving to the North Shore for some Giovanni Shrimp, I used my valuable time to conceptialize on some new promotional materials for 2007. So far this is what I have come up with. Should I used this as a commercial? Let me know what you think.

Amy & Willy
|
Finally, the day has arrived when these two would tie the knot. Amy & Willy has been together for over 10 years! Amy & Willy had an amazing wedding at Lanikuhonua. My favorite and one the most sought after venues on Oahu. Although the day was hot and VERY VERY humid, that didn't stop this loving couple to wed. With the amazing floral artistry of Terrie Easley Design, event coordination by Jeremy & Michelle of Toast Event Design and Music provided by Andy of Rhythm & Groove Entertainment, the day still yet went as planned and unfolded beautifully. Award Winning Photographer, Alex Rapada from Los Angeles, tagged along to document this special occassion. Thanks to Amy & Willy for letting us take part in your special day. You are both an amazing couple and I wish you both the best as your love continues to grow. And I look forward photographing my nephews and nieces.
